An American actor, comedian, author, producer, educator and activist, Bill Cosby is a true American legend and role model. He was a stand-up performer for years before that and later starred in his own series called The Bill Cosby Show. He also created the educational cartoon comedy series Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids. And of course, Cosby has also acted in several films. No stranger to improv and hosting, Bill also hosted two seasons of Kids Say the Darndest Things, and has been an endorser of many products, as he is a sought after spokesperson. Born and raised in Philadephia, and always a class clown in school, it was no surprise that Cosby had an affinity for comedy and stand-up. He enlisted in the Navy after high school and an apprenticeship fell through, and then eventually went to college, however he was always interested in humor and ventured onto the stage. He performed in Philadelphia and then New York. He would go on to book gigs in all the major cities and finally was spotted by Carl Reiner who saw his act in Pittsburgh.
