The Detroit Lions have had a rocky few years. In 2008, the team finished the season 0-16. Things changed, however, when they drafter quarterback Matt Stafford. Stafford is the fourth quarterback in the history of the NFL to pass 5,000 yards in passing in a single season. In 2011, the Lions finished the season 10-6 and made it into the playoffs for the first time in over a decade. Other Lions stars include Calvin Johnson. Johnson had the most yards receiving in the NFL with 1,681 yards and had the most receiving touchdowns in the NFC. The Lions fought their way into the playoffs and were an inspiration to the city of Detroit and the whole state of Michigan. Unfortunately the Lions lost a hard-fought matchup against the New Orleans Saints 45-28.
