One of the unlikeliest success stories in rock at the turn of the millennium, Detroit rap-rocker Kid Rock rose to fame with his 1998 record Devil Without a Cause, released with Atlantic Records, featuring hits,”Cowboy”, “Bawitdaba”, and “Only God Knows Why”. He then released The History of Rock in 2000, which featured a compilation of remixed and remastered versions of songs from previous albums as well as the hit single, “American Bad Ass”. “All Summer Long” was the number one smash hit world wide featured on the album Rock n Roll Jesus. He released Born Free in 2010 and since it has gone platinum! Before his first major release, Atlantic Records decided to take a chance on Kid Rock as rap-metal acts like Korn, Limp Bizkit, and Rage Against the Machine began to dominate the hard rock landscape and their glad they did.
