PBR, or the organization for professional bull riders began in 1992 as a result of the commitment and contribution by 21 professional bull riders, now run by CEO Randy Bernard. Since 92’ the organization has grown into four tours and over 350 events world wide every year with prize money ranging from the hundreds of thousands into the millions at times. During the matches, riders attempt to stay on a bucking bull for eight seconds and then rides are judged on both the rider’s and the bull’s performance by two judges scoring the rider and a separate two scoring the bull. At the end of each event, the 10 best riders compete in a shorter round with the rider with the highest point total at the end being the winner. This wild bunch are based in Pueblo, Colorado, however since 2007 PBR has also hosted a PBR World Cup in which twenty-five bull riders from five different countries compete to win the title of best bull riders in the world. However the premier tour is called the Built Ford Tough Series, which includes thirty one events and the top thirty riders in the world.
